Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Project Port ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to businesses that use Project Port ("you") and, where relevant, to your customers whose information you submit to the Service.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your email, company name, and login credentials.
• Project data — job descriptions, photos, dates, and service addresses you enter (service addresses are geocoded and then discarded — only a randomly-offset, approximate location is ever stored; see Section 4).
• Customer data — name and email/phone you provide when sending a review request, or that we receive from an invoice when you connect QuickBooks Online.
• Connected account data — if you connect Google Business or QuickBooks Online, we access the data needed to provide the corresponding feature (a Google Place ID for review links; invoice, line-item, and customer-contact data from QuickBooks to generate projects). QuickBooks access tokens are encrypted and never exposed to your browser.

2. How we use it

We use this information to operate the Service: storing and publishing your projects, generating AI-rewritten descriptions, sending review-request emails on your behalf, and — if you connect QuickBooks — turning your invoices into draft or published projects. We do not sell your data or your customers' data.

3. Third-party services we use

Providing the Service means some data passes through vendors we rely on, each only for the purpose described:

• Supabase — database and file storage hosting.
• Anthropic (Claude) — generates rewritten project descriptions and classifies imported QuickBooks invoices. Project descriptions are sent for this purpose; we instruct the model not to include customer names or exact addresses in its output.
• Google (Maps, Places, Geocoding) — converts an address into an approximate map location and powers business/address search.
• Resend — delivers review-request emails.
• Intuit QuickBooks Online — only if you choose to connect it; we read invoice data via QuickBooks' API to generate projects.

4. Location privacy

A project's real address is used only in memory, at the moment it's geocoded, and is never written to our database. What we store instead is that point shifted by a random quarter- to half-mile offset, plus a coarse neighborhood/city label derived from that shifted point — never the exact address.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a project, its content and photo are removed. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (Section 8).

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including row-level database access controls and encryption of stored QuickBooks access tokens, to protect the data we hold. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
